Bridal Shots.

I've been getting myself prepared for my first wedding booking in September and came across some old images from a wedding fayre I shot back in February 2009 for SK Clinic and Spa in Bury St Edmunds. Hayley Modelled a beautiful Terry Fox wedding dress for the day and let me borrow her for some bridal shots.

Rates & Packages

I now have put rates up on my website under the investment section. I decided to keep it simple and offer just one package for portraits and one for weddings but of course I can also offer bespoke quotes if required. Each package comes with some prints included and a CD with the same images on. Spring/Summer sessions are still available and wedding packages can still be booked for this summer after June 2010. Just get in touch via my website for information about the dates I have available for both portraits sessions and weddings.

I've also added a section about myself to the website which I've been fretting about doing for months! After taking and editing some photos of myself, I have been nervous about finally releasing them to the website, because of what people would think when they saw them and read the section about myself. I don't want to come across as vain or self centred I just believe that potential clients would prefer to see their photographer and know a little about them before placing a booking. I really hate writing about myself and found this section very difficult. However I decided to explain my background in photography and hope I came across well.

My contest is still running, exactly one week left until the winner is announced. Chance to win a FREE 2 hour photo session in a location of your choice. Back to school!

Last friday was the last day of the easter holidays for my brother and his friend Harry. So we went by train to Chelmsford with my mum and Harry's mum Nicky. Below are a few pictures I took at the station in the morning. By the end of the day we were pretty relieved that next week they are back at school!

Don't forget that my contest is still running. Chance to win a free 2 hour photo session! This can be used to get some new photos of your children, family, a group of friends or just some new photos of yourself! Winner will be picked at random on Sunday 2nd May. Just comment on the post linked above (click here to go straight there), or email me at kerrie@kerriemitchell.co.uk. Good Luck!

New Friends

Lookie at what arrived in the post recently....

I have been lusting after this hunk of glass for a while and I'm so over the moon its here and I'm finally able to use it in future sessions. I also recently purchased a D200 so the two are a perfect match! Now who whats a photo shoot? I'm off out to attack some family and friends with my new additions!

Some old news as well. I finally got my business cards sorted. I used a design by EW Couture found over at PIFphoto and customised it to fit my website and business colours. I love that marketing pack, it helped me to brand my business on the cheap until I can afford to do it properly some day in the future. I got my business cards from MOO, who I also adore for enabling photographers and artists to showcase their work on one side of the card. Its like a mini portfolio of your work. I went for 5 different photographs for now. I'm running out already, everyone seems to love them!

New pricing structures are also underway on my website. So I'll be blogging as soon as that is all finished. I'm also planning on adding a section all about myself, which is a bit scary. So watch this space.

Don't forget.... my contest to win a 2 hour photoshoot is still under way, just email or comment to this post if your interested! You can also enter via my Facebook fan page by liking, commenting or emailing me also. The winner will be announced on May 2nd!

Good Luck everyone!

Things I'm Loving on the www

I have been pretty quiet on the blog front of late, the weather has been miserable and I've not shot anything new in a long time. So I have decided to update with some of the things I have been loving on the world wide web recently.

Since I decided to start blogging alongside my website, I've been checking out blogs all over the place, I'm now completely in love with Green Wedding Shoes the wedding photography I have seen on there makes me so excited at the chance of shooting a wedding in the future. Plus I love looking at how these people have been styling their weddings.

Another blog of the moment is iDiy it makes me wish I was crafty and made everything myself. I found this blog through Green Wedding Shoes because a lot of the DIY projects are for wedding invitation and guest favours. But also a lot of the stuff here would be great to hang in your home. I might start simple with some paper cranes.

Lastly Poladroid has to be one of my most favourite things of the moment. It takes any of your digital photos and makes it into a polaroid photo. Plus its free and I love stuff that is free! Oh and did I mention Justin Timberlake is a fan? Anything he likes I'll love. I'm not even ashamed to admit that. Below are some examples of my Poladroid fun.

1. Walking on the beach in Costa Rica  2. Cocktails in Costa Rica 3. Splashing about in Ocho Rios  4. Myself and Katie in Aruba.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Fashion - Natalie, Rachael & Anna

Some new fashion images have been added to my website today.

A little behind the scenes action on the last one, Anna stood with a fan between her legs and Natalie crouched behind her for quite a while to achieve the photo above. Wasn't the warmest shoot I've ever done.

I also  now have my Facebook Fan-page live. So make sure you pop along a take a look.

Liana & Matt - Engagement

So here are the final photos from Liana and Matts session. Our shoot was on a freezing valentines weekend, but we managed to make the best of it and most of all avoided the snow. We shot the photos in Central Park, Chelmsford and then had a wander around the town.

You've got to love a couple who lay on a path in a public park all in the name of photography! I'm glad they did too, as this is one of my favourites from the entire day.

We decided to wander around the town, it gave us a chance to warm up and confuse the locals who were shopping in High Chelmer shopping centre.

Liana & Matt thank you again for coming along, you are a great couple and I wish you success in both your careers and your upcoming wedding planning!

Preview - Liana & Matt

This weekend, I had my first engagement shoot with Liana and Matt. They were wonderful models for me and up for doing anything if it meant they'd have some great images. I'm currently working on editing them, but couldn't wait to get a sneak peek up.
