I had a great time with Millie this afternoon at Mersea, and couldn't resist getting one of her pictures edited and ready to see! Expect the rest next week. :)

Hazy Days Caravan Hire - Promotional Photo Shoot Kent
Zoe from Hazy Days Caravan Hire kindly lent out Kitty for a bridal photo shoot that is top secret and being kept under wraps until August. I am so excited about showing those pictures and believe me the wait will really be worth it. In the meantime however I wanted to show off Kitty in all her glory.
Hazy Days Caravan Hire rent out retro styled caravans for festivals, events, weddings, parties and of course holidays. But not just that they offer a complete vintage experience, you don't just get the caravan you get camping goods, kitchenalia, soft furnishings and picnic gear. Oh and that added luxury of flushing toilets and hot water... never again will I camp at a festival!
I also had Lauren Baker of Lauren By The Sea photography along to assist and get some extra snaps for me, I'm sure she'll soon be blogging her images from the shoot soon so make sure you head over to her page as well.
Please note, this isn't a sponsored post I honestly love the concept of this company and having the chance to work with them was brilliant!
This shoot took place in Shottenden in Kent at a tranquil caravan and camping site called Orchard Cottage. It's definitely the place to go for peace and quiet and cute farm animals!

A Cambridge Bridal Shoot.
Last Friday I took my first visit to Cambridge, somewhere just an hour away from home yet I'd never been there before! When I arrived at Charlie Ross' house, we got carried away chatting with each other and the models for the day Lizzie and Olivia that we nearly run out of time for the actual shoot. Charlie provided some great neutral make-up for the day, the girls looked great.
Luckily the delay in getting make-up done and dresses on meant we caught some gorgeous afternoon light. We were so lucky with the weather, it looked like summer (although it was still freezing cold!). We walked around the college buildings in Cambridge and then took a few pictures around the town in quirky little cobbled streets surrounded by bikes.
This next photo is my absolute favourite from the day... I had a hard time choosing between colour or black and white because they both looked stunning!
I'm so pleased with the results from this photo shoot and think it's my favourite set of photos in my portfolio so far! Thank you Lizzie, Olivia and Charlie!

Alice In Wonderland Inspired Photo Shoot.
A couple of weeks back now my sister in law and I had the idea of doing a photo shoot themed around Alice In Wonderland. We got carried away with the idea sourcing all kinds of props and even making some (see the paper bouquet below... that caused so much stress!). My mum helped to sew a huge blue bow on a dress, and playing cards on to a tulle skirt.
Then we decided to get a make-up artist involved and I knew this project would be right up Charlie Ross' street. Both of us are currently in that awkward, wanting clients but needing more to show for ourselves stage in our "careers" so collaborating on portfolio shoots is perfect.
Sometimes it's nice to just shoot for yourself, which I see this project as. I used to arrange shoots like this a lot, wandering into the woods and clambering on trees to create some atmospheric pictures. It was good to go back to that experience photographing something purely for the enjoyment of it and not worrying about whether it would bring me potential clients. Although, if I do get clients who want themed shoots I'll be over the moon! They're so fun to photograph.

My Family Photo Shoot - Highwoods Country Park Colchester
You may remember me saying that I planned to put my family though a photo shoot in order to show you some examples of a session taking place in Highwoods Country Park in Colchester. This weekend in between lots of rain showers we wandered up there and discovered a lot of mud!
Hopefully the park will dry up in the month between now and when I plan to hold my weekend of photo shoots! If not I'm planning on changing location to the beach, and even thinking of doing one day at Highwoods and one day at the beach. I'll just have to see what the preference is with you all when you book up!
To find out more about family photo sessions taking place on March 26th and 27th (which are only £70 and ready for Mothers Day!) click here.
So onto my family photo session:
Ben fell over within the first 10 minutes...
I set the tripod up so I could be in a picture,
and I'm surprised no one fell over here to be honest!
Just a shot of the mud...
I don't have middle child syndrome or anything, but he's definitely the favourite!
Book your own family session by e-mailing me at kerrie@kerriemitchell.co.uk the £70 sessions are for one weekend only, So be quick!
