Ellie & Aimee - Sneak Peek
This morning I had some fun with these two at the park and beach. This was the last shot of the shoot, and the ice creams were certainly needed in todays weather!

Sneak Peek - The Bedford Babies
Yesterday I squeezed a photo shoot in before the rain came down with these two cuties. I had to get a little preview up for their mum and dad today (and also because I just couldn't wait to edit a couple!)

Sneak Peek - The Costanzo Family
This morning I had lots of fun with these three, so much so that we were all worn out by the time we finished our walk-about photo shoot!
I had to get a sneak peek up, and look forward to showing the rest soon.

Mothers Day: A Nine Year Old's View
On Mothers day I had been taking Gemma's Teen photos and so when it came to family lunch I was a little photo-ed out although I had my camera with me. My younger brother was bored within 5 minutes of arriving and finishing his homework and so I gave him my camera, set it on auto and let him snap away. Here are his pictures, which I did edit slightly (mainly adding my logo) but not alot, it's his composition and point of view and it's some pretty good work.
The men made starters and the main meal, however my older brother managed to get away with it.
Had to include a picture of my mum on mothers day....
After he came back and showed me this on on the LCD screen I told him to try getting up really close to one of the flowers and seeing what would happen. Then he came back with the two below... I think he's a natural.
We had to have an obligatory group picture, which with a 50mm prime was difficult for Ben to make sure he had everyone in frame (he was in another room for this shot!) I can't remember what we're laughing at, but I like this picture because we're all doing something different.
So I now offer a nine year old second shooter... is that allowed?! :D

Inspiration for photo shoots.
Often it can be difficult to narrow down you choice for locations for a photo shoot. The great thing about the 'Anytime' sessions I offer, is that they can take place anywhere you'd like. Custom photography like this leaves the major decisions to you which means you have complete control over the 'feeling' you are portraying in your images.
I get lots of emails from interested couples and families about where they should have their photo shoot. I think it pays to consider places that have a special meaning to you as a couple or family. It can be as mundane as your back garden or as out there as the science museum. All that matters is that it says something about you.
I've put together a post of some of my favourite photo sessions from across the internet. It may give you great ideas for thinking more personally about your photo shoot.
The photos below are of Katie and Preston by Leigh Miller Photography I love the couples use of the pick up in the pictures. It's a part of their life and is an interesting dynamic to the pictures.
A lot of Joy's from wildflowersphotos.com photo's include props the couple felt described them. They had their session with fishing rods and a boat, and they are absolutely gorgeous! Make sure click here to see Amelia and Josh's session.
I absolutely adore this camping photo shoot by Shannen Norman
These two had a common like in reading and so decided to have their photo shoot in a library. Photography by Hello Studios
Below is a video, that is just beautifully shot, from the colours to the storyline. Something as simple as taking a walk could make for some great photos. Postcards From Italy from ForYouLoveMe on Vimeo.

Highwoods Country Park Photoshoot - Fia
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Fia, my friend Jason's daughter. We decided to go to Highwoods Country Park on what turned out to be a pretty hot day.
Fia was so much fun for the couple of hours I spent with her. Most of the children in my family are boys so it was refreshing not to have to talk about football or wrestling. Instead we talked about hair, picked flowers and she showed me her dance moves. I think she may be my new best friend.
I'll end on this one because its my favourite from the day.
All the fresh air must have worn her out though, apparently she was fast asleep on the journey home.

Back to school!
Last friday was the last day of the easter holidays for my brother and his friend Harry. So we went by train to Chelmsford with my mum and Harry's mum Nicky. Below are a few pictures I took at the station in the morning. By the end of the day we were pretty relieved that next week they are back at school!
Don't forget that my contest is still running. Chance to win a free 2 hour photo session! This can be used to get some new photos of your children, family, a group of friends or just some new photos of yourself! Winner will be picked at random on Sunday 2nd May. Just comment on the post linked above (click here to go straight there), or email me at kerrie@kerriemitchell.co.uk. Good Luck!
