Rebecca and Daniel's Bury St Edmunds Wedding

Rebecca and Daniel were the first couple to book me as a wedding photographer and I have been so excited about shooting this wedding ever since that happened. I met Rebecca whilst at my day job as a school photographer and when she brought her class through to be photographed she asked whether I shot weddings. I mentioned to her that this year would be my first season doing so and within a few weeks herself and Daniel booked me.

That day seemed like so long ago when the wedding day rolled around but Rebecca greeted me like an old friend in the hairdressers, she was one of the calmest brides I have seen to date and the whole wedding day was so laid back it was almost horizontal!

I also met up with Daniel and his best men in the morning for a few getting ready shots. He was staying just 5 minutes away from where Rebecca was getting her hair done in the morning.

Rebecca and Daniel's ceremony took place in Chevington in their local church and was a heartfelt emotional ceremony with three speeches from their friends.

Thank you once again Rebecca and Daniel for booking me as your photographer and helping me to start this crazy journey as a wedding photographer! Your wedding was gorgeous, your family and friends made Heline and I so welcome and I am so pleased I was able to be there to capture it for you. xx

Rebecca and Daniel - Sneak Peek

Rebecca and Daniel tied the knot on Saturday 30th July in a church ceremony in Chevington. Their day was so relaxed and such a pleasure to photograph. Below is a sneak peek at their reception venue Abbots Barn, the rest will be up before you know it!

Lizzy & James: Sneak Peek

Yesterday Lizzy and James got married at Frinton Cricket Club on a gorgeously hot and sunny day. After having a quick look through their pictures this morning, the one below really stood out to me and I had to upload it for them to see before they set off on their honeymoon weekend.

Keep your eyes peeled for the rest of the wedding in a few weeks time.

Steve Gerrard's Wedding Photography Workshop - Birmingham

On Wednesday Myself and 11 others attended Steve Gerrard's Wedding Photography workshop in Birmingham. I managed to peer pressure photography friend Amy along as well because I thought she'd get a lot from the workshop (and I didn't want to be lonely!) She did bring lots of entertainment especially when her tamogotchi decided to give birth.

Anyway... back to the course. Steve was very forthcoming with his knowledge and experiences in setting up a photography business. He told us a lot about the things he has learnt on the way and has definitely got me thinking a lot about the way I want to take things from now on. He also showed us his workflow, and gave us some great tips to speed up the editing process. I can't believe I didn't know about Photoshop droplets... but thankful that I now do!!

In the afternoon we wandered the streets nearby Steve's studio in the old custard factory and took some pictures of our models for the day Dave and Leanne. I loved the shooting, we do not have the gritty locations that Birmingham has to offer here in Colchester. But I certainly think I'll be looking more at the less obvious locations for future shoots. I mean these two even made a skip look great...

I'll be posting a behind the scenes post soon as well as I got some fun photos of everybody in action on the day as well. See the links below to see everyone else's results from the day too (I'll be adding more as and when people update their blogs)
