Lewis & Nicola: Married! (Sneak Peek)

Yesterday Lewis and Nicola got married in Colchester and celebrated with a reception in Coggeshall. Just as dusk was setting in I managed to steal them away for a few couple pictures around the streets nearby the White Hart Hotel. I just had to get a sneak peek up, as I loved the casual happiness the two have in this picture.

Congratulations to the two of you. I can't wait to show you the rest in a few weeks time!

Heather & Chris: Married - River Thames Wedding, London.

Back in April I was invited by Julie Skelton of Julie Anne Images to second shoot at Heather and Chris' wedding. They decided to tie the knot aboard the H.S Hispaniola on the river thames and when I went to meet Julie to talk over the order of the day we were both excited about the possibilities shooting in central London brought us.

The day of their wedding fell on April 23rd, the first bank holiday of the year and the first BIG heatwave. London was heaving as I arrived and I had to fight to get across Westminster Bridge to meet Julie, Heather and the rest of the girls in their hotel room at the County Hall Hilton Hotel.

Chris and Heather's sons read a poem out during the speeches, they were a perfect little double act.

Thank you Julie for inviting me along to help you photograph such a fun wedding day, and Chris and Heather thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Hazy Days Caravan Hire - Promotional Photo Shoot Kent

See this beautiful thing? It's Kitty Carlight. Now I have to admit I've never been a caravan person, we had lots of caravan holidays when I was little and really all the memories of them is waking up freezing to death and only having a electric heater for warmth it was horrible getting out of bed into the cold! However Kitty is the most gorgeous caravan I've ever seen and more excitedly I got to photograph her for a promotional shoot.

Zoe from Hazy Days Caravan Hire kindly lent out Kitty for a bridal photo shoot that is top secret and being kept under wraps until August. I am so excited about showing those pictures and believe me the wait will really be worth it. In the meantime however I wanted to show off Kitty in all her glory.

Hazy Days Caravan Hire rent out retro styled caravans for festivals, events, weddings, parties and of course holidays. But not just that they offer a complete vintage experience, you  don't just get the caravan you get camping goods, kitchenalia, soft furnishings and picnic gear. Oh and that added luxury of flushing toilets and hot water... never again will I camp at a festival!

I also had Lauren Baker of Lauren By The Sea photography along to assist and get some extra snaps for me, I'm sure she'll soon be blogging her images from the shoot soon so make sure you head over to her page as well.

Please note, this isn't a sponsored post I honestly love the concept of this company and having the chance to work with them was brilliant!

This shoot took place in Shottenden in Kent at a tranquil caravan and camping site called Orchard Cottage. It's definitely the place to go for peace and quiet and cute farm animals!

A Wedding Rehearsal

Saturday marks the day of shooting my first wedding. I've been excited about shooting a wedding for as long as I can remember now, but as the day looms I'm starting to feel the nerves. Lucky for me the wedding is that of one of my best friends sister. So I'm happy that I'll know the wedding party and a lot of the wedding guests. Also, to ease my nerves slightly, another family friend of theirs is taking the important photos. I'm going to shoot everything anyway to see how I, and my equipment copes with the situation, but its great to know that if I do mess this up someone else didn't!

I went along to the wedding rehearsal to scope out the church, and see how the order of the ceremony would go. All Saints Church in Brightlingsea seems to be a light trap, it was so bright in there even at 7 in the evening. So this is yet another thing calming me, my camera and lenses coped then, so I'm sure they'll help me to produce some great images on Saturday.

Fingers crossed for Saturday! I'll update here with the images soon.

Bridal Shots.

I've been getting myself prepared for my first wedding booking in September and came across some old images from a wedding fayre I shot back in February 2009 for SK Clinic and Spa in Bury St Edmunds. Hayley Modelled a beautiful Terry Fox wedding dress for the day and let me borrow her for some bridal shots.

Things I'm Loving on the www

I have been pretty quiet on the blog front of late, the weather has been miserable and I've not shot anything new in a long time. So I have decided to update with some of the things I have been loving on the world wide web recently.

Since I decided to start blogging alongside my website, I've been checking out blogs all over the place, I'm now completely in love with Green Wedding Shoes the wedding photography I have seen on there makes me so excited at the chance of shooting a wedding in the future. Plus I love looking at how these people have been styling their weddings.

Another blog of the moment is iDiy it makes me wish I was crafty and made everything myself. I found this blog through Green Wedding Shoes because a lot of the DIY projects are for wedding invitation and guest favours. But also a lot of the stuff here would be great to hang in your home. I might start simple with some paper cranes.

Lastly Poladroid has to be one of my most favourite things of the moment. It takes any of your digital photos and makes it into a polaroid photo. Plus its free and I love stuff that is free! Oh and did I mention Justin Timberlake is a fan? Anything he likes I'll love. I'm not even ashamed to admit that. Below are some examples of my Poladroid fun.

1. Walking on the beach in Costa Rica  2. Cocktails in Costa Rica 3. Splashing about in Ocho Rios  4. Myself and Katie in Aruba.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
